Remember & Rebuild - Autumn Leaves & Spring Shoots

The Big Skill, a not for profit community interest company, is pleased to announce that Communities First & Hereford Council have awarded them a Cultural Activities grant to provide a wide range of free social activities, both indoor, & outdoor, as well as via zoom. The activities are inclusive, available for all abilities & ages, mindful, relaxing, & highly accessible.

They will include - Art & Crafts from Recycled Materials; Creative Writing; Film making using Videos & Mobiles; Digital Art; Charcoal Sticks Making; Rag Rug Brooches; Coil Basket Making; Sea Glass Mobiles; Metal Bugs from Scrap; T-Shirt Bags: Button Bracelets; Magazine Paper Bowls; Willow Workshops; Felting, Foraging; Easy Recipes Cooking; Grow Your Own; Embroidery & Make Do & Mend (Boro); Forest Bathing (shinrin yoku); Landscape Photography. All materials & craft kits are free.

The project will enable particularly Saxon Hall & other centres to reopen and once again become an integral part of people’s lives.

Saxon Hall buildings are currently closed, due to the NHS using it for vital Covid vaccinations, so we will be erecting a polytunnel. We are looking for volunteers to erect it on Saturday 5th February & Saturday 12th February so that we can start the weekly Wednesday evening’s Waste-less Gardening & Cooking Club, as well as hold other workshops there from early February.

A Spring Exhibition of participants’ crafts will celebrate Opening Up of Creativity.
